(03-12) Taught Algebra I using McDougal’s Algebra: Structure and Method, Book 1 to a group of homeschoolers in Scotts Valley (2003-2004). Taught 2nd grade math through Algebra II to homeschoolers one-on-one, individualizing instruction and emphasizing study skills.
Math Homework Tutor 3rd grade- Precalculus. Santa Cruz County, CA (03-12) Taught subtraction, multiplication, long division, fractions, word problems, Prealgebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Precalculus to public & private school students and assisted them with their homework. Taught study skills, mnemonic devices, and test taking strategies. Language Arts Tutor Kindergarten through 10th graders. Santa Cruz County, CA. (02-12) Taught phonics, reading, spelling, writing, self-editing, note taking, and social studies to Kindergarteners through 10th graders with an emphasis on study skills. Used running records to track students’ reading progress and inform instruction. Designed lessons to fit students’ individual learning styles.
