12 Tips for Doing Well in Math1) Pay close attention in math class and take notes. 2) Get the phone numbers of 2 dependable students in the class, so you have someone to call if you are absent and need to know what the homework is. 3) If you don’t remember how to do a homework problem, read the examples at the beginning of the lesson to see if the book explains how to do it. 4) As you do your homework, check the odd answers in the back of the book to make sure you are practicing the concepts correctly. If you get a problem wrong, use http://www.hotmath.com to try to find and fix your mistake! 5) As you do your homework, put question marks next to problems you don’t understand and ask your teacher, tutor, or study partner to explain them to you. 6) Make flashcards with concepts and formulas you need to memorize. Practice them! 7) Find out when tests will be and what pages of the book will be covered. 8) Study for tests by redoing odd homework problems and checking the answers in the back of the book.
